What It Is
Chances are good that you are familiar with the Super Soaker
line of water guns. Well, have you seen the electronic ones
yet? EES stands for “Electronic Enhanced Soakage.”
(We’ll overlook the fact that the copywriters at Hasbro
have not idea of proper adverb use: It should be “Electronically.”)
Anyway, as you can see we’re in the mood for summer fun,
and the new EES uses lights and sounds to add another dimension
to a pretty standard Super Soaker.

Why It’s Fun
The thrill of any water gun is the ability to drench an opponent,
and now that the summer heat is finally here around the country,
that’s more refreshing than irritating, though children
should be advised about appropriate usage—and targets.
In the EES line, the electronic sounds include dripping and
engine revving noises that you might expect to hear in a mad
scientist’s laboratory and the lights would be right there
in that same lab. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Super Soaker
if it didn’t deliver a high-powered blast of water and
the EES Blasters are no different in that aspect. They all have
that same dependable drenching ability that we have come to
know and love from all the Super Soakers.
Who’s Going To Love It
Judging from our test group, boys and girls of all ages are
very excited about the new Super Soakers. You can also expect
to find many a Super Soaker at any outdoor summer event.
What To Be Aware Of
One of the EES Blasters we tested had a small amount of leakage
from the refill cap. It wasn’t enough to cause a problem
but something to keep in mind when the kids bring the Soakers
indoors and lay them down on the rug.
As you’re buying a water gun for kids keep in mind that
water is heavy (a pint is a pound). Little kids tend to want
the biggest guns that hold the most water, but they can sometimes
have trouble wielding them.
