Play TV Baseball
Radica
Ages 7 & Up

What It Is

Play TV Baseball is part of a very cool line of games that plug directly into the TV, without the need of a game console.

This set comes with a bat, a tethered baseball and a home plate. Set it up in front of the TV and one or more players are ready to play ball.

The bat and ball both have sensors in them that interact with the home plate that sits on the floor. "Pitch" the ball and you’ll see what you threw on the screen, and the other player can swing at it with the bat. There are several different play modes and one player can play against the computer.

Why It’s Fun

This is a very realistic baseball game. Both the bat and the ball respond very well and realistically. Radica calls it a "virtual physical reality" game, and that’s pretty true. Your swings and pitches are accurately reflected on the screen.

Who’s Going to Love It

If you like baseball, you’ll probably be intrigued by this game. We found players of all ages (and both genders) got into the play.

What to Be Aware Of

What’s amazing about this game is how much detail and action is in it–and it’s only an 8-bit game. The realism of the game is very satisfying and engaging.

Most TVs made in the last few years have the appropriate jacks located on the set, so set up is as easy as plug and play.
