What It Is

Monster Hunter Freedom 2 is a unique and intensely challenging action/RPG hybrid game for the Sony PSP. Throughout the game, players rely on an interesting assortment of weapons to battle viscous creatures across visually stunning environments. 

Why It’s Fun

The level of customization for the player’s character is nearly unheard of in a PSP title. In addition, players can create their own weapons and beef up their abilities with armor.

A multiplayer cooperative mode allows for players to battle with up to four friends via a wireless ad-hoc connection. There is also a team building option for the ultimate battle of man vs. beast.

Who’s Going To Love It

This is a highly challenging and difficult game that is mainly going to appeal to hardcore gamers.

What To Be Aware Of

Monster Hunter has been huge in Japan for a while now but has never caught on here with the same fervor. Many people think this is due to the insanely difficult learning curve. Monster Hunter Freedom 2 is still difficult but slight changes have made that difficulty more of an engaging challenge rather than an obstacle to playing.

Monster Hunter Freedom 2 is a new version of Monster Hunter 2, which was only available in Japan for the PS2. This new US release contains over 50% more content than the original.
