What It Is

With all the talk of this coming November's national election, it's nice to know that Nintendo is giving us a party we can all support, the Mario Party! Mario Party 5 takes the Mario Party series to a the next level with new game boards, more than 60 new mini-games, new playable characters, an expanded single-player mode and, of course, more multiplayer madness!

For those of you unfamiliar with the series, Mario Party (there are now five in the series) features a bevy of familiar Nintendo characters, which you play through several different game-board worlds. The object on the game board is to collect stars and coins and compete in often hysterical, mini-games.

Why It's Fun

The name says it all. Well, part of the name – "party." The Mario Party series is the electronic gaming version of a board game and it's just as much fun as some of today's most popular board games.

In fact, the Mario Party series is significant in the video game and toy categories precisely because it brings classic play into the video world. This is fun today's kids can relate to with classic wholesome play that parents and caregivers can certainly support.

Who's Going To Love It

You don't have to be a Nintendo fan to love this game. If you enjoy fun, silly, group games then you will love Mario Party 5.

What To Be Aware Of

Although Mario Party 5 features an expanded single-player mode, the game is best when played with other people. Up to four can play together.
