What It Is

JSRF JetSetRadioFuture is a funky, free-styling action adventure that takes place on the streets of Tokyo in 2024. In the game, you are a member of the Rudies, a band of graffiti artists trying to take back the streets from the Rokkaku Group, an evil mega-corporation. Rokkaku controls the government and police department so the Rudies are on their own in this battle.

Using in-line skates for transportation and some beat thumping background music, you dance and interact with other characters of the game who explain the objects and goals to proceed. You pick up spray-paint cans along the way and use them to leave your mark all over town as well as to propel yourself with a speed boost.

Why It’s Fun

Thanks to some very talented graphics and animation people behind this game, JSRF is like controlling a Japanimation film. The music in JSRF, heavy techno-infused, is the perfect compliment to the futuristic settings and action of the game. There is even a song performed by Bran Van 2000.

What To Be Aware Of

The action and characters are fast! In fact, you may want to stop your character occasionally just to look at the fantastic background images and Tokyo citizens. This is rated “T” for teenagers, so parents are advised to review the game and know what’s in it.
