What It Is

Imaginext is the clever line of toys from Fisher-Price that features action figures and playsets, each representing a different theme. Two of those themes, medieval and swashbuckling, are the subjects of two new CD-ROM games, Imaginext Battle Castle and Imaginext Pirate Raider.

These Imaginext CD-ROMs for the PC (Windows and Mac) take the action and adventure of the creative Imaginext toy line into the digital realm.

Why It’s Fun

These games are clever and make great use of the Imaginext worlds from which they are based. The games are filled with many missions, which upon completion unlock new features for building your own castle or pirate ship (depending on which game you are playing).


Who’s Going To Love It

The appeal of these games isn’t limited to kids familiar with the Imaginext toys. However, the games do come with a free Imaginext figure, which is a nice bonus for kids who do already have the toys.


What To Be Aware Of

The load time between screens is a little slow, especially for anyone used to playing games on current generation game systems. The graphics are good and intro animation and game stories are top notch and well-written.
