What It Is

Those adorable Ham-Hams are back with a new game for the Game Boy Advance system called Ham-Ham Heartbreak. In this game, the Ham-Hams aren’t getting along very well and it’s all because a meddling troublemaker called Spat is telling lies and causing heartache everywhere. It’s up to Hamtaro and Bijou to stop Spat and get everyone back on speaking terms. In the world of Hamtaro, this is about as close as one can get to a crisis.

Why It’s Fun

This latest Hamtaro game is the perfect opportunity to bone-up on your Ham-Chat, the secret language that’s so popular among hamsters and the kids who love them. You will learn and use new Ham-Chat words throughout the game like, “Hamha” a common greeting or “Scrub-E”, which means, “Clean.”
The characters are definitely cute, and have different personalities—from sweet to cranky, which is about as extreme as it gets. Kids love discovering new Ham-Hams as they work through the various levels.

Who’s Going To Love It

Little Ham-Ham fans everywhere will tell you that they “need” this game. Seriously, though, this a great game for the younger GBA players who like the combination of a puzzle game, a collecting game and the cute personalities of the Hamtaro, et al.

Even for kids who do not know the Ham-Ham lore intimately, this is an engaging and wholesome game. Aside from some bad behavior, nothing terribly untoward ever happens in the Ham-Ham world.

What To Be Aware Of

Since the majority of the discoveries in the game are accompanied by text, basic reading ability is needed to fully enjoy Ham-Ham Heartbreak.
