What It Is
One of these two racing games from EA Sports is sure to get
your motor revving. F1 Challenge '99-'02
allows gamers to experience the excitement of four seasons
of Formula One racing with fourteen teams, forty-four different
vehicles and seventeen of the world's most famous racing
circuits. In Shox the excitement begins with the selection
of one of twenty-four licensed vehicles from carmakers like
Audi, BMW, Mitsubishi and Ford to name a few. Players then
race on one of three terrains of desert, jungle or snow, competing
to finish in a high enough placement in order to advance to
the next race.
Why It's Fun
Two critical elements that make or break a racing game are
the cars and the courses. If you need proof of this, try to
find an old Atari 2600 and the game Pole Position. After the
novelty of playing with an antique, say 30 seconds, has passed,
it's really dull and not at all interesting to play let
alone watch. Both EA Sports games have got what it takes to
deliver awesome racing action in cool cars on hot courses
plus graphics that are as enjoyable to watch as the game is
to play.
Who's Going To Love It
If you think there hasn't been a racing game worth playing
since Pole Position then F1 challenge might be the one to
bring you into the new millennium. And for everyone with a
PS2 who has jealously coveted their friends' Xbox RalliSport
Challenge, well covet no more because Shox is the game for
you.
What To Be Aware Of
Both games are sold separately and allow up to four players
to play at once on a split screen.
