What It Is

“Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller” is the third electronic game in the Crazy Taxi series. This is a fast-paced and fun-filled game where the player gets behind the wheel of a taxicab and has to pick up, drive and drop customers off at their destinations. These aren’t your standard checker cabs, but rather souped-up taxis customized to reflect the personality of whichever cabbie the player selects. Much like their cars, each cabbie has a unique attitude and personality. There’s Angel, whose motto is “You only live life once so enjoy it;” Mrs. Venus, a funky mother who supports seven kids and a husband; Gus, the originator of the “Crazy” taxi style; and, Hot-D, the 78-year-old thrill seeking optimist, to name a few.

There are three main game modes that place your Crazy Taxi and cabbie in one of three areas: the West Coast, Glitter Oasis or the Small Apple. In each location points are earned by fares and crazy driving maneuvers. Taxi customers will tip you depending on just how crazy your maneuvers are. Two additional game modes also allow players to fine-tune their driving skills and record and play replays.

Why It’s Fun

Like the first two games, Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller has a loud soundtrack of Punk-Rock hits and some hilarious quotes by the game’s characters. The graphics and background detail are top-notch and the player has total control over where the taxi can go—like over buildings and under water.

Who’s Going To Love It

Anyone who enjoyed the first two Crazy Taxi games will get a kick out of the third installment, which has four new cabbies and some awesome new moves. That doesn’t mean if you are new to the Crazy Taxi world you won’t like it. Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller is a fun game that doesn’t require a lot of time to figure out.

What To Be Aware Of

Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller is a one-player game. This is a loud game with a lot of action and noise. As with any game rated “T” for teens, parents should be aware of the level of extreme action of the game and decide whether or not it is appropriate for your children.
