What It Is

Have you ever wanted to star in a hit TV show? Perhaps you’ve been dreaming about battling nasty legions of the undead? Well, if you answered yes to either of these questions, then “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” for Xbox is the game for you. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, developed by The Collective and published by FOX Interactive and Electronic Arts, does such a wonderful job of recreating the action, suspense and humor of the TV show its based on that you might feel as if you are the legendary slayer of the undead herself.

In the game, the player controls Buffy as she fights demons, zombies and bloodsuckers in Sunnydale, CA. Just like the TV show, Giles is Buffy’s guide, and you’re going to need his help along with the help of some friends like Xander and Willow to make it through the game. Keep an eye out for Angel, Cordelia and Spike who also make appearances in the game as well as some other familiar fangs and faces from past TV episodes.

Why It’s Fun

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is an awesome butt-kicking good time. The player has a wide variety of special moves and weapons to fight with (who would have guessed you can slay a vampire with a mop?). This game is filled with sarcastic one-liners and funny conversations with the characters who, with the exception of Sarah Michelle Geller, are voiced by the TV show’s actors. The sound ranges from the TV show’s theme to a collection of creepy and spooky noises all of which add to the feeling of being a part of the weekly series.

Who’s Going To Love It

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, first a movie with Luke Perry, has managed to develop a cult following who will really enjoy this game.
If you like games such as Tomb Raider, Pirates – The Legend of Black Kat or Castlevania, then you will probably love Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

What To Be Aware Of

As you may have guessed, slaying vampires is not kids-play, and neither is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The game is rated “T” for Teens and features mildly gruesome death scenes and some questionable language. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a single player game.
